Bumbu is a sleek rum made with sugarcane from eight different countries in the West Indies. It's brewed on Barbados, a Caribbean territory known as "Rum Island," where the spirit has been produced for almost 400 years. Bumbu is a superb rum made with some of the world's cleanest water and matured in oak barrels, with a flavor as complex as the brand's long history.
Bumbu Rum is as genuine and historical as it can be. The heritage of the Original Bumbu is not just traditional but also geological. Barbados, unlike most Caribbean islands (which are built by volcanoes), was caused by coral reefs. The groundwater is cleaned here as it is driven through natural limestone, resulting in some of the best water in the world.
The lightness and smoothness that are key to Bumbu's exceptional drinkability are owed to this incredibly pure water, combined with meticulously picked sugarcane from across the Caribbean and South America. When sugarcane is distilled into rum, the minerals and other ingredients give it a special character. Each bottle of Bumbu contains pure Bajan water.
The most prestigious Original Bumbu is made with quality Barbados rum and hand-selected spices that reflect the West Indies' rich and diverse past. With each taste, Bumbu exposes its history and artistry. The product's history extends back to the 16th and 17th centuries when West Indian sailors and merchants added Caribbean fruits and spices to their rum to enhance its flavor, giving it the name "Bumbu." Caramel, vanilla, and a trace of wood dominate the scent of this chestnut gold rum. On the taste, it has flavors of chocolate and banana with a hint of cinnamon. It finishes sweet, silky, and light.
Bumbu Rum is exceptionally enjoyable on its own, with sweet caramel flavors and invigorating oak scents. It's delicious neat or on the rocks, and it's also great in cocktails. Here are a few of our top Bumbu rum drinks:
