From an unconventional idea emerged Ardbeg BizarreBQ - the distillery's inaugural barbecue-inspired whisky. This tantalizing blend was conceived by Master Distiller, Dr Bill Lumsden, and barbecue virtuoso, Christian Stevenson (also known as DJ BBQ), resulting in a whisky that delivers a robust, peaty punch.
Similar to grilling, one essential component in crafting this first-ever BBQ-inspired malt is fire. The unique combination of three different casks - double charred oak casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and BBQ casks - undergoes a toasting process. This innovative method infuses the whisky with a delightful fusion of sweet, tangy, and smoky flavors, making it the perfect companion for a BBQ.

Color: Glowing Charcoal Embers
Aroma: A mingling of charcoal, soot, smoky wood, aromatic herbs, and spices. Notes of treacle toffee, hickory smoked ham, and cinnamon-dusted espresso rise up. With water, sharp citrus aromas and herbal notes such as fennel and aniseed come forth, accompanied by grilled artichokes, seared meat, and the unmistakable scent of bonfire and BBQ embers.
Taste: Opens with a lively spice, similar to BBQ ribs coated in chilli, followed by a deep, warming smoke that brings to mind flame-grilled steak, chilli oil, cured leather, and clove. The palate experiences a crackle of ginger, aniseed, and tar, ending with an aromatic woodsmoke edge.
