Hornitos Añejo Reserve Tequila is a premium aged expression from Hornitos — one of Mexico's most celebrated tequila brands, known for pioneering the use of 100% Blue Weber Agave and helping define the modern premium tequila category. The Añejo Reserve is Hornitos' most refined and complex expression — a tequila aged in American oak barrels for a minimum of one year, developing a rich, smooth character that bridges the vibrant agave spirit of Mexico with the warm, rounded depth of oak maturation.
The result is an añejo tequila of genuine sophistication — smooth enough to sip neat, complex enough to elevate any cocktail, and refined enough to stand alongside the finest aged spirits in any category.
Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks to appreciate the full complexity of the añejo aging. Also exceptional in a premium Tequila Old Fashioned, Añejo Manhattan, or Paloma — the oak-aged character adding a sophisticated depth to any cocktail.
Añejo (meaning "aged" or "vintage" in Spanish) is a category of tequila that has been aged in oak barrels for a minimum of one year and a maximum of three years. The oak aging imparts caramel, vanilla, and spice character while softening the agave's natural intensity — producing a smoother, more complex tequila that is ideal for sipping neat or in premium cocktails.
Reposado tequila is aged for a minimum of 2 months and up to 1 year — lighter in oak influence with more vibrant agave character. Añejo is aged for at least 1 year, developing a richer, more complex oak character with deeper caramel and vanilla notes. The Hornitos Añejo Reserve is the more refined and sophisticated of the two.
