The fearless are rewarded in life. Charles Tanqueray, in the 1830s, was not hesitant to combine his revolutionary ideas. As a result, Tanqueray London Dry, a flawlessly balanced gin and one of the most awarded gins globally, was created due to his inventive drive for perfection.
For the perfect G&T, the bartender's pick. Tonic and a wedge of lime are ideal companions.
Tanqueray was crowned the Bartenders' Choice of Gin for the eighth year in a row at the 2020 Drinks International awards, not only as a top-trending gin but also as the Bartenders' Choice of Gin.
Tanqueray Gin, created in 1830 by Charles Tanqueray, is still brewed using the same traditional, time-tested recipe. Tanqueray London Dry is distilled four times for maximum smoothness and brings out the flavors of the four traditional gin botanicals: refreshing juniper, spicy coriander, aromatic angelica, and sweet licorice. The three-part cocktail shaker became popular during Prohibition's classic cocktail movement in the "Roaring 1920s" inspired Tanqueray's unique bottle design. The Tanqueray family crest features the pineapple fruit, which was previously thought to be so exotic that it became the ultimate symbol of hospitality in 1830s England. It also appears on every bottle from the Tanqueray Distilling Company.
On the nose, juniper is the most prominent note. There's a hint of citrus zest here, as well as candied angelica stem and licorice.
The taste is dominated by juniper, but it is rounded out by rich undertones of baking spice, such as angelica root, cinnamon, and coriander seed. The palate's finish catches angelica/coriander in a way that recalls Bombay Sapphire's top note. On the finish, it's spice-forward mainly and long. Pour our Tanqueray London Dry Gin over a generous amount of ice in a wine glass, top with premium tonic, then garnish with a lime slice for a nice tasting gin and tonic.
